Frequently Asked Questions
Before your first visit, your appointment will be confirmed 24 hours in advance, and we’ll ensure you have clear directions and parking information. When you arrive, you’ll be asked to complete a health history form before meeting with Dr. Rhys for your consultation. This consultation will include a discussion of your medical history, a physical examination, a posture assessment, and X-rays if clinically necessary.
Once we have completed your initial consultation it will take less than 24 hours to process the results and propose a treatment plan. You will be invited back at a time that is suitable for you either later on in the day or week. At the second visit Dr. Rhys will go over your results, show you your x-rays (if taken) and outline the plan to help achieve your goals.
The treatments are not painful; however, following an adjustment, some muscles and ligaments may need to adapt to your new posture. This can result in mild stiffness or discomfort in certain areas — this is completely normal. We recommend applying an ice pack to the area for 10 minutes after your adjustment and drinking plenty of water to help your body recover and adjust.
The popping sound you may hear during an adjustment is simply the release of gas between the joints. When a joint becomes restricted, it loses mobility and builds up tension. The popping indicates that this tension and pressure have been released, helping to restore normal movement. Though popping can occur, it is not always present — and its absence does not mean that nothing has moved. Adjustments are still effective even without the sound.
The first consultation and report of findings together cost £60. This includes a full spinal assessment, which involves muscle and nerve testing, posture analysis, and orthopaedic testing.
If clinically necessary, X-rays are available at an additional cost of £70.
Chiropractic treatments are £50 on a pay-as-you-go basis. However, we also offer discounted packages depending on what works best for you — just ask us for more details!

Everyone responds differently to their first adjustment, and that’s completely normal. We always start gently and explain each step clearly before performing any part of the adjustment. Some people may feel looser and more flexible afterwards, others may not feel much change right away, and some might experience a bit of stiffness in the areas we’ve worked on. All of these responses are perfectly normal as your body begins to adjust and move differently. It’s important to remember that if an issue has been there for a while, it may take more than one adjustment for your body to start responding.
How long it takes to feel better depends on several factors, including how long the condition has been present. Whether it’s been there for weeks, months, or even years can significantly impact your recovery time. The severity of the condition is also important, and your Chiropractor will take this into account. During your report of findings, your Chiropractor will clearly outline the issue and, based on the examination, give you an idea of how long it may typically take to see improvement.
We understand that life gets busy, and sometimes plans change. If you’re unable to make your appointment, we kindly ask that you let us know as soon as possible. We’ll always do our best to reschedule at a time that works for you. We’re very flexible and committed to helping you stay on track with your care.
